Andal (or Goda Devi) is a revered 9th-century Tamil poetess and saint in Hinduism, considered the only female Alvar (devotee of Vishnu) among the 12, believed to be an incarnation of Bhudevi (Earth Goddess). She is celebrated for her intense, divine love for Vishnu, expressed in her devotional poems Thiruppavai and Nachiyar Tirumozhi, and is worshipped as a goddess, often seen as Vishnu's consort. Her life story, from being found as a baby to her spiritual union with Lord Ranganatha (Vishnu), embodies pure bhakti (devotion).
