Meenakshi Amman is the Hindu goddess, a form of Parvati, whose main temple is the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The name "Meenakshi" means "fish-shaped eyes," which is a divine characteristic of the goddess. She is the patron deity of Madurai and is considered the primary deity of the temple, which also houses her consort, Sundareshwar (Shiva).
